Much like a trip to the Turtle Farm or a stroll along idyllic Seven Mile Beach, a trip to Grand Cayman is not complete without afternoon tea at Icoa.
Featuring a delicious range of small pastries and sandwiches and aromatic teas, Icoa’s afternoon tea has become a social institution, a way to bring together family and friends to indulge in the adored pastime.
Afternoon tea has its origins in the mid 1800s when Anna, the Duchess of Bedford, decided eight hours was too long for a lady to wait between lunch and dinner.
She began to invite her friends, who were ladies of high society, to join her for afternoon tea at Belvoir Castle, thus creating a new pastime amongst the rich and influential. The ladies would indulge in cucumber sandwiches, scones with strawberry jam and cream and lashings of tea.
Before long, afternoon tea had become de rigueur, and continues to be associated with elegance and class.
Icoa has retained this element of sophistication in our afternoon tea, providing our customers with an elegant arrangement of sandwiches, pastries and superior tea in a charming setting.
Customers can sample the Grande Platter with delicious mini sandwiches or indulge in our finely crafted pastries, which will satisfy even the sweetest of teeth.
Those who love a good cup of tea will not be disappointed, with our Tea Forte Teas considered to be amongst the best. There is an extensive range to choose from, from the classic Earl Grey to the exotic, fruity tastes of Flora, with a full-bodied taste and fragrant aroma to tantalize all the senses.
Served between 3pm and 6pm, afternoon tea at Icoa is perfect for those who would like a taste of the menu, while experiencing all the luxury of life on Grand Cayman.
